The Academic Accelerator Program (AAP) is a well-rounded first-year program designed for international students with strong English-language skills. It complements immersive English-taught classes with the appropriate level of support. Students enrolled in the Academic Accelerator will benefit from: Tailored academic and English language support A full year’s worth of college credits Access to courses specifically designed for international students Assistance with English vocabulary essential for coursework A diverse mix of classes with both international and U.S. students The College of the Coast and Environment (CC&E) at Louisiana State University offers a Bachelor of Science in Coastal Environmental Science (CES). This interdisciplinary undergraduate program is a collaborative effort between the Department of Environmental Sciences and the Department of Oceanography and Coastal Sciences within the College. The program boasts small class sizes and an impressive student-faculty ratio of 3:1. Students gain a deep understanding of the delicate balance between humanity, industry, and the environment through engaging coursework. CES offers a range of courses in environmental, marine, wetland, toxicology, and related sciences, along with opportunities for hands-on experience, field trips, lab work, and study abroad. Students can choose from three concentrations to align with their interests and career goals: Environmental Science & Research (ESR) Applied Coastal Environmental Science (ACES) Environmental Health and Environmental Law The Applied Coastal Environmental Science concentration is ideal for students who wish to apply scientific knowledge to real-world scenarios, develop and implement environmental policies, apply social sciences to environmental issues, work in scientific industries or the public sector, or pursue advanced degrees such as a Master of Public Administration or a Juris Doctorate. Graduates with a B.S. in CES enjoy career flexibility, with opportunities in environmental consulting, government science and management, education, advocacy, public policy, and research support. They can also pursue various graduate programs in environmental fields, environmental law, public health, public policy, medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, and allied health professions.
