The Academic Accelerator Program (AAP) is a balanced first-year program designed for international students with strong English-language skills. It complements immersive classes taught in English with appropriate support. Students enrolled in the Academic Accelerator Program will benefit from: Tailored support for academic and English-language needs A full year’s worth of college credits Access to courses exclusively for international students English-language assistance for key terms used in classes A mix of classes with both international and U.S. students The Department of Chemistry offers a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry degree. Chemistry majors are required to choose one of eight areas of concentration, ideally during their sophomore year. These concentrations include: Biological Chemistry Chemical Physics Chemistry and A Second Discipline Environmental Chemistry Materials Polymers Pre-professional Chemistry Secondary Education These concentrations can be categorized based on whether they prepare students for a career in chemistry or another field, such as medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or education. The chemistry concentration provides a comprehensive foundation in the field of chemistry and is recommended for students interested in pursuing a career in chemistry but are unsure of which specific branch to focus on.
