Program Description The Academic Accelerator Program (AAP) is a balanced first-year program for international students with good English-language skills. It supplements immersive classes taught in English with just the right amount of support. Students in the Academic Accelerator receive: The right amount of support for their academic and English-speaking needs A full year’s worth of college credits Access to courses exclusively for international students English-language help with words they need to know for their classes A mix of classes with international and U.S. students Philosophy is the study of knowledge, reality, and existence. If students want to better understand themselves and the important issues surrounding life, knowledge, and values, they can consider studying philosophy. This program will provide a broad understanding of the central problems and positions in philosophy, through coursework from the four central areas of philosophy: ethics and value theory, metaphysics and epistemology, the history of philosophy, and logic and formal methods. A major in philosophy offers a wide range of opportunities for intellectual growth and self-development to students who have a variety of interests, preparing them for a number of careers that require critical thinking and decision-making.
