The Academic Accelerator Program (AAP) is a balanced first-year program for international students with strong English-language skills. It provides additional support to immersive classes taught in English to ensure students have the necessary resources for success. Students in the Academic Accelerator Program will benefit from: Tailored support for academic and English-speaking needs A full year’s worth of college credits Access to courses specifically designed for international students Assistance with English vocabulary essential for coursework A diverse learning environment with both international and U.S. students The Manship School of Mass Communication at Louisiana State University is dedicated to educating innovative thinkers and leaders in media advertising, public relations, and political professions. The school is committed to advancing the study and practice of media and public affairs in a rapidly changing technological and global landscape. Students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication at the Manship School can choose from five concentrations: Public Relations Digital Advertising Political Communication Journalism Public Relations The Public Relations concentration focuses on strategic communication planning and implementation to enhance relationships between individuals, organizations, and companies and their key stakeholders. Public relations professionals play crucial roles in reputation management, crisis communication, and corporate social responsibility. Strong writing skills, media literacy, and public speaking abilities are essential for success in this field. Graduates of the Public Relations program often secure positions as public information officers, communication directors, events coordinators, press secretaries, and PR agents in various industries. Manship alumni have gone on to work at reputable organizations such as Edelman, the Denver Broncos, American Red Cross, General Motors, and Think PR in New York.
