The Academic Accelerator Program (AAP) is a balanced first-year program for international students with strong English-language skills. It provides additional support to immersive classes taught in English. Students in the Academic Accelerator program will receive: Adequate support for academic and English language needs A full year’s worth of college credits Access to courses designed exclusively for international students Assistance with English language vocabulary necessary for classes A mix of classes with both international and U.S. students In the Bachelor of Arts in International Studies program, students can expect to gain a comprehensive understanding of global issues with a focus on a specific geographic region or areas such as global diplomacy. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in study abroad programs and develop expertise in the languages and cultures of their chosen region. Concentrations available in the BA International Studies program include: Africa Asia Environment and Development Europe Global Cultures Global Diplomacy Global Studies Latin America Middle East The Asia concentration delves into the religion, politics, history, art, and literature of South and East Asia, encompassing a diverse region with significant economic importance. Graduates may pursue careers such as Ambassador, Federal agent, Foreign service specialist, International business manager or executive, International development professional, or Lawyer.
