The Academic Accelerator Program (AAP) is a balanced first-year program for international students with strong English-language skills. It complements immersive classes taught in English with appropriate support. As a student in the Academic Accelerator, individuals will receive: The necessary support for academic and English-speaking needs A full year’s worth of college credits Access to courses exclusively for international students English-language assistance with essential vocabulary for classes A combination of classes with both international and U.S. students The Louisiana State University Department of Geography and Anthropology is a leading institution in education and research at the national level. Students in the G&A program explore a diverse range of topics, gain valuable technical skills, and become competitive job seekers on a global scale upon graduation. Geography majors can pursue either a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree. Those interested in mapping sciences or physical geography typically opt for the B.S. program, while those interested in human geography choose the B.A. program. The geography undergraduate program offers a concentration in Geographic Information Science (GIS), providing students with essential training in critical GIS skills for acquiring, managing, analyzing, and presenting spatial data.
