The Academic Accelerator Program (AAP) is a balanced first-year program designed for international students with strong English-language skills. It provides additional support to complement immersive English-taught classes. Students in the Academic Accelerator Program can expect: Tailored support for academic and English-language needs A full year’s worth of college credits Access to courses specifically for international students Assistance with English vocabulary relevant to coursework A blend of classes with both international and U.S. students The Bachelor of Arts in English program offers a wide range of subjects, from classic literature like Beowulf to contemporary box office hits. English faculty and students often participate in summer study abroad programs in countries such as Great Britain and Ireland. Within the English major, students can choose from four concentrations: Creative Writing Literature Secondary Education Rhetoric, Writing and Culture The literature concentration encourages students to explore diverse interpretations and contexts of imaginative literature, fostering critical thinking and analysis skills.
