Program Description If you hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, but don’t meet the entry requirements for a master’s, a Pre-Master’s can help you gain a place on a postgraduate degree. For progression to the 1st year of a postgraduate degree at the University of York. Your course length is determined mainly by your English language level (UKVI IELTS score). Students on all course lengths take a set of common or similar modules to gain a solid base of skills for university. If your course is longer than 2 terms, you’ll take additional modules designed to improve one or more of your English language level, academic skills, and basic knowledge of particular subjects. Master of Science - Social Media and Management With improved access to the internet people have become more connected to each other and to what is happening in the world. At the same time social media and information applications are transforming business. This course will give students an understanding of existing and emerging technology and the ability to assess the impact of social media on commercial, public, and third sector organisations in the UK and worldwide. The course is taught by experts from the Department of Sociology and York Management School, combining experience from the forefront of sociological and business research.
