Program Description This 3 term programme offers successful students guaranteed progression to Year 2 of their degree. You will study your Foundation programme at our Centre located at the heart of the London South Bank University campus. This programme is designed for international students who do not quite have the academic grades and/or English level to start the first year of an undergraduate degree at London South Bank University, but have a stronger profile than a Undergraduate Foundation Pathway student. All students who successfully complete the International Year One are guaranteed progression to Year 2 of a business-related undergraduate degree at London South Bank University. This programme is set at level 4, and is equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate business degree in the UK. The year is divided into three terms of seven to eight teaching weeks, one reading week, and an examination week. On average, you will undertake 23 (and up to 28) hours of classroom-based study per week. English Language forms up to six hours of your timetable, is compulsory for students who are below the required level for progression, and will be integrated into the teaching of academic subjects as well as being taught separately if you need additional support. Students who are at or above the required English level for progression are likely to follow a reduced timetable. Continue to Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Business Management with Finance If you’re interested in the financial side of running a business, this course could be the perfect preparation for your career. BA (Hons) Business Management with Finance will set you apart from other job applicants by giving you an understanding of the theory and practical applications of financial management. During your degree, you’ll get to grips with the knowledge and understanding of the theory and applications of financial management, and gain numerical, analytical, computing and report-writing skills. This course covers accounting fundamentals, financial management function, the financial environment, financial markets, raising and managing resources, financial risk and valuation. One of the most exciting parts of this course is the option to undertake a one year work-placement in third year. The course team work closely with both LSBU's Placement Officers in the Student Centre and Enterprise Centre to ensure students are placed in suitable working environments. You'll be given guidance and assistance with respect to finding a placement, CV preparation and the application process. Most placements are within the London area. Or, for students with an idea for a new business they’d like to work on, they can spend their third year developing this in LSBU's Enterprise Centre. Attendance Method At ONCAMPUS London South Bank University they are changing their plans, so students don't need to change theirs.
