Program Description If you hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, but don’t meet the entry requirements for a master’s, a Pre-Master’s can help you gain a place on a postgraduate degree. For progression to the 1st year of a postgraduate degree at the University of York. Your course length is determined mainly by your English language level (UKVI IELTS score). Students on all course lengths take a set of common or similar modules to gain a solid base of skills for university. If your course is longer than 2 terms, you’ll take additional modules designed to improve one or more of your English language level, academic skills, and basic knowledge of particular subjects. Master of Arts - Public Administration and Public Policy Explore the key themes that drive the creation of public policies – how they are made, framed, brought to life and managed. What makes the cogs of international organisations turn? What are the motivations, ambitions and factors that are considered and acted upon to shape the world? From patterns of global trade and finance to state restructuring and its consequences, this dynamic course will give students a detailed insight into the decision-making processes that govern human lives. Students will graduate with the specialist expertise to conduct high quality research in public policy and administration. They'll be well supported as they develop the knowledge most desired by professionals for a career in policy advising, lobbying, political research, journalism and academia.
